It's still a valid problem either way. Ore miners get a 10% yield bonus from Mining Foreman and a cycle time reduction bonus from the gang link while ice miners only get anything out of the cycle time bonus.

A dedicated booster only becomes a valuable asset after the 4th or the 5th miner, in smaller gangs you are better off with everyone in a Mackinaw. While ore miners always get a good bonus from the Mining Foreman skill alone, ice miners don't.
